Prompt Your Government Leaders To Take Action NOW Against Red Tide!

During a time when Florid's West Coast tourism should be booming, beaches are having to be blocked off and resorts are closing their doors.  Instead of azure waters, beautiful white sand beaches, and hundreds of seashells lining the coastline, Florida's Southern Gulf Coast is plagued with the horrors that come with an unprecedented red tide algae bloom.  These beaches are littered with hundreds upon hundreds of washed-up dead fish.  Hearts are broken to see sharks, turtles, dolphins, and even a whale shark washed ashore from this epidemic.  Watching this drama unfold gives us all a feeling of hopelessness but we can help by taking action and making our voices heard!

Talk to our Leaders

We want to do all we can and voice our concern to everyone we are able to as soon as possible! With your help, we can let our Government leaders know that this issue is important to us and that we are not going to let it slip by unnoticed. We urge you, a concerned citizen and ocean lover, to copy this letter we composed, paste it into your own email, and send it to ALL of your government officials from your U.S. Senator to your Governor.  Find your U.S. Senator HERE. Find your member of Congress HERE. Find a list of all of your State Legislators HERE. Contact Florida's Governor HERE.

Dear (your Legislator),

I'm sure you are aware of the unprecedented and heartbreaking red tide algal bloom happening in Florida right now.  I am asking you as a concerned citizen from your district to please join me and thousands of your other local constituents in not only bringing awareness to this state disaster but taking action to fix it. I am also asking you to please encourage your fellow State Representatives to join you in this fight against the current red tide epidemic.

The number of dead and dying fish, dolphins, turtles, manatees, sharks and rays is reaching a critical point.  Tourists are having to cancel vacations, local citizens are getting sick from the toxicity levels the algae are producing, and people are being forced out of their own homes due to the horrific stench being produced. The time to act is now!

Thank you for your time,

(your name)
